[Solved] Debugging timelapse functionality
Hi! I am having a blast with Mycodo, thank you again for making such excellent software.
I'm hoping for help on how to debug the timelapse functionality - on two Mycodo installs (one a USB webcam and one native Picamera), I've been able to take one timelapse, but not subsequent timelapses. When I check the Mycodo/cameras/uniqueID/timelapse folder I see that the stills were properly created - but I presume the script that turns them into a mp4 is failing somehow?
I can't see any failure messages in the Daemon log (though I may not be searching it properly), but I did notice that the stills' permissions are different from the first timelapse to the second - where would I go to debug more or see log messages about this?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide,
I still do not understand the difference in permissions between the two timelapse instances, but I have realized I am misunderstanding a critical part of the flow.
I was thinking that setting up a timelapse would also result in the generation of the .mp4 file at the conclusion of the timelapse period. Now I believe this is incorrect, and that I somehow forgot that I manually created my first timelapse by pressing the "Generate" button.
So, this is definitely user error, a misunderstanding of how timelapse-generation should work.
Timelapse videos are not automatically generated, but once you do initialize a video to be generated from your timelapse images, it will appear in the "timelapse_video" directory for your particular camera on the Pi's filesystem. It will generate the video in the background, so you will have to give it ample time to finish before it completes and is available to download from the Pi.

I also do not know why your image permissions are different between the two timelapses. I will investigate when I get time.
@kylegabriel thanks for the offer but since I've verified that the timelapse functionality still works, the permissions change seems not to break anything - all the errors in this thread are just the result of me not understanding stuff ;-)
